This Privacy Policy explains how Tulo (“Tulo,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and service at heytulo.com. Tulo turns YouTube videos into written summaries.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile information from Google.
- Content you submit. The YouTube links you paste, and the summaries and translations we generate from them, are stored so you can revisit them.
- Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details — Stripe handles them. We retain your subscription status and customer identifier.
- Usage data. We collect anonymous and aggregated product analytics (pages viewed, features used) to understand and improve the service.
How we use your information
- To provide the service: generating, storing, and displaying your summaries.
- To manage your account, authentication, and subscription.
- To communicate with you about your account (for example, magic-link sign-in emails).
- To improve the product and fix problems.
Service providers we share data with
We use trusted third parties to operate Tulo. Each processes only the data needed for its function:
- Supabase — authentication and database.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- AI providers — processing transcripts to generate summaries. We may change AI providers over time.
- PostHog — product analytics (data stored in the EU).
- Resend — sending account emails.
- Vercel — website hosting.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication (to keep you signed in) and for analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
Data retention
We keep your account and summaries for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual recaps at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at support@heytulo.com and we will erase it, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, billing records).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
International users
Tulo is available globally. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the service providers listed above. Our product analytics are stored in the European Union.
Children
Tulo is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
